What sparks creativity for you?

A:

As a musician, sparks fly when I'm performing with other creative musicians. As a filmmaker, it is that powerful intersection between the visual and the aural; where sound and image come together to create meaning.

Short Bio

Carla is an award-winning filmmaker, screen composer and musician. She was a principal flute with the Opera Australia Orchestra (AOBO) and has performed and recorded with most of the professional orchestras in Australia. She has also performed with contemporary and world music ensembles including A-Z Music, LindseyKemp Dance Co., Seymour Group, Tango Paradiso, Tucana and most recently Elektra Collective Unconscious.

She runs See Tea Productions specialising in sound/video art, arts documentaries and screen-music; The Art of Sound, for ABC Radio National; Sex, Drugs, String Quartets shown on ABC TV, NZ TV, and international festivals, won Carla an AustralianGuildScreenComposers award. She wrote the score for Frocks Off (SBS TV), also nominated for an AGSC award.

Carla has a PhD in multimedia.
