I have a dynamic relationship with space, constantly shifting from moving space, to being moved by space.

Short Bio

Perth-born Richard Cilli trained at STEPS Youth Dance Company and the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Then joined Sydney Dance Company in 2009. He won the Helpmann award for Best Male Dancer in 2010 for his performance in Rafael Bonachela’s we unfold.

He has been a dancer for Sydney Dance Company, Rambert, Chunky Move, Dancenorth, Stockholms Stadsteater, Lucy Guerin Inc., and Australasian Dance Collective. As a choreographer Cilli has created work for Sydney Dance Company, The Australian Ballet, LINK Dance Company, and WAAPA, as well as independently produced work.

Richard is a certified Countertechnique teacher, and loves to share his passion and curiosity as a performer, maker and teacher in Australia and around the world.
