Nū — "Tezetaye"

Live coding envelops the wood-panelled walls of the Nest in "Tezetaye", a new Live at Phoenix film with Ethiopian-Australian artist Nū, directed by Miski Omar. Known for her immersive and sonically rich performances, Nū weaves intricate sound worlds that move between rhythm and abstraction, drawing from live coding, electronics, and improvisation.

In "Tezetaye", where lyrics are sung in Amharic, Nū transforms code into texture and emotion—each gesture unfolding in real time as sound ripples across the space. Omar’s direction offers striking documentation of an artist translating the language of technology and reveals the depth and focus that defines her sonic practice.
