About

Phoenix Central Park is the singular vision of philanthropist Judith Neilson AM.

A one-of-a-kind performance space in Sydney, Phoenix Central Park aims to revitalise its inner-city neighbourhood with a new cultural beacon that is as bold on the outside as the performances it presents within.

Ticketing

  • All tickets to performances at Phoenix Central Park are free via ballot only.

  • You need a valid ticket to attend an event at Phoenix Central Park – please make sure you bring your digital copy with you. There is no box office for ticket collection. We will scan your ticket when you arrive, before you make your way into The Nest.

  • We are an intimate and numbers are tight. We impose a limit of 2 tickets per person for most events.

  • Our events are free for a reason. If we find anyone re-selling tickets they will not be allowed back into Phoenix.

  • Please only enter our ballots with your own details - if we catch you using false details, you won’t have any luck. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets we believe are obtained through false information at any time.

  • Cancellation: Your tickets will be valid for a specific performance only. If you are unable to make the show, please either pass the ticket onto a friend who can attend or email tickets@phoenixcentralpark.com.au to cancel your tickets. If you stand up Phoenix, you may not get a second date.

  • Unfortunately sometimes we may have to cancel, reschedule or substitute an artist for an event due to unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we will do our very best to give you advance notice where possible.

Visiting

  • Seating: There is limited seating available at Phoenix. Seating will be offered on a first in, first served basis. There is bench seating and standing room. Get in early to guarantee a seat.

  • Accessibility: Please advise us in advance via email if you have accessibility requirements. We have a lift on site reserved for guests who need it, and can reserve required seating.

  • Don’t be late: Please arrive well in advance of the start of the performance time. Entry after the advertised performance start time is at the discretion of venue staff.

  • Earplugs: Contemporary music is often best experienced loudly, but prolonged exposure to amplified music can result in permanent hearing loss. Phoenix wants to normalise wearing earplugs to shows. If you own a pair of earplugs designed for music listening, please bring them to the show. We also make disposable earplugs available should you require them.

  • Photography Policy: You may be photographed or filmed at the event. The images may be used by Phoenix, its partners and the artists and their partners in all media. We also have CCTV at the venue for your safety and security. Please note we may not be obliged to provide you with any images or recordings taken at the venue.

  • Professional Photography: Professional photography and videography is strictly prohibited. No DSLR cameras, filming devices with detachable lenses or tripods will be permitted.

  • Phone Photography: Unless otherwise advised, you are welcome to take photos or videos before and during a performance on your mobile phone, provided your flash is off. Please consider the experience of others around you while taking photos or videos. You can use the photos or videos for personal social media, but remember to tag us @phoenixcentralpark. Please also switch your mobile phone to silent when inside the venue.

  • Food and Drink: We don't serve any food or drinks onsite and they cannot be brought into the venue. Please arrive to the venue well-nourished. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite places to eat and drink in Chippendale.

  • Prohibited Items: Please don’t bring alcohol, glass bottles, offensive signs or clothing, laser pointers or any other items that could be a safety hazard or interfere with the enjoyment of the performance.

  • Bags: There is no cloak room or baggage check at Phoenix so please only bring small bags with you. Raincoats and umbrellas can be left on a rack outside, at your own risk. To help ensure the safety and security of all visitors, bags and personal belongings may be subject to visual inspection. You are responsible for all your personal possessions, and must not leave any of your possessions unattended inside the venue at any time.

  • Refusal of Admission: Phoenix has a "No Dickhead" policy. If you act inappropriately you will be plucked from The Nest and escorted off the premises, including if:

    • you fail to comply with these terms, don’t have a valid ticket or fail to follow the reasonable directions of our staff;

    • you attempt to bring any prohibited items or food or drink into the venue or refuse a visual inspection of your belongings;

    • you are intoxicated or behave in an offensive, threatening or disruptive manner;

    • you interfere unreasonably with another audience member’s enjoyment of the event or venue or with our staff carrying out their functions; or

    • you recklessly cause damage to the venue or threaten the safety of a performer or anyone else.

    We may also need to refuse admission for safety or security reasons with or without notice.

  • Children: We will let you know if an event is not suitable for children. All children attending the venue must be accompanied by a supervising adult at all times. Prams may be left folded up outside the venue at your own risk. We reserve the right to remove you and your child if it is interfering with others’ enjoyment of the event.
