Megan Alice Clune

THU 10 August 2023
6:30pm & 8:15pm

Multi-instrumentalist and composer Megan Alice Clune performs music from her critically acclaimed 2023 album ‘Furtive Glances’ with award-winning Naarm-based musician and artist Daniel Jenatsch.

Described as ‘visionary ambient’ (Rockerilla), ‘breathtakingly intimate’ (Bandcamp Daily) and 'a pristine exercise in precise simplicity' (boomkat.com), Megan’s music portrays an emotional depth through a minimal sonic palette, delicately balancing textures that are at once rich and sparse.

Megan Alice Clune is a musician, artist and composer based on Gadigal/Wangal country, Sydney, Australia. Her work explores the dynamic relationships between music, technology, the body and temporality through composition, performance and installation. She has performed, presented work and undertaken residencies across Australia, Asia, Europe and North America, including VividLIVE at the Sydney Opera House, 3331 Arts Chiyoda (Tokyo), Performa15 (NYC), Institute of Modern Art (Meanjin/Brisbane), Substation (Naarm/Melbourne) and more. Her recent records ‘If You Do’ (2021, Room 40), 'Digital Auras' (2022, Longform Editions) and 'Furtive Glances' (2023, Room 40) have been released to critical acclaim.

Daniel Jenatsch is an artist and composer who makes interdisciplinary works that explore the interstices between affect and information. His work combines hyper-detailed soundscapes, music and video to create multimedia documentaries, installations, radio pieces and performances. His work looks at the social construction of subjectivity, with a concern for the ways in which forms of knowledge and power construct and inform our social and mental ecologies. His works have been presented in exhibitions and programs at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Arts House, Kunstenfestivaldesarts, the Athens Biennale, NextWave Festival, Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Liquid Architecture Festival, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, and the MousonTurm, Frankfurt.
