Following their glowing performance for Phoenix HALO, we are pleased to welcome an encore from the ARIA-nominated ethno jazz band Zela Margossian Quintet, a special co-presentation with Venue 505.
Performing original works carrying influences from Armenian traditional music, Margossian’s compositions have an authentic approach of combining classical and folk with the improvisational attitude of contemporary jazz. Come and immerse yourself in the rich polyrhythmic melodies and flavours of Zela Margossian and her accomplished Quintet.

HALO
The Zela Margossian Quintet was one of 20 acts to appear in HALO, a digital concert series by Phoenix designed to support Sydney’s music scene emerging from lockdown in 2021. A mesmerising display of musicianship and virtuosity, the set features live performances of compositions from their 2022 record The Road.
