Worlds Only

30 Jan 2024

Phoenix Central Park is proud to present the premiere performance from intercontinental transient ambient group, Worlds Only.

Named after Megan Alice Clune’s short-lived yet seminal zine World’s Only that explored the intersection of classical music, experimental subgenres, and the indie ethos, the newly formed sextet of Alister Hill (guitar), Darren Lesaguis (spoken word), Jenny Trinh AKA Wytchings (electronics), Justin Tam AKA Tzekin (saxophone), Reginald Harris (bass) and Thomas William Smith AKA T. Morimoto (electronics) explores intertwining instrumentation, internal worlds, and the distortion of time, a collaborative practice focused on site-specific musical works that only exists in the liminal space that happens with live improvisation on stage.

Drawing from four decades of experience and their respective practices – from recording award-winning works, performing at major institutions like the ICA London, Sydney Opera House and the Red Rattler, creating influential labels and collectives (Eternal Dragonz, Sumac, Serial Space) and collaborating across the full spectrum of music spanning trance to drill and slowcore rock, Worlds Only is a shape-shifting entity based in Sydney and London that embraces a collectivist philosophy where each lineup is fluid, membership expands to the dozen, and studio recordings are foregone in favour of live documentation that captures totemic musical moments, that are personal, incendiary and completely of the moment.

  • Phoenix Central Park is an intimate performance space and tickets are limited. Due to high demand, tickets will be issued at random to those who have entered each ticket ballot. Each performance has a separate ballot, so if you would like to attend multiple performances, you will need to enter each ballot separately.

We advise you to listen to the artist you are entering the ballot for, and consider which shows you’d really like to attend. Entering more ballots does not increase your chances of attending.

Please only enter our ballots with your own details - if we catch you using false details, you won’t have any luck. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets we believe are obtained through false information at any time.

  • If you are successful you will receive an email up to ten days prior to the performance with instructions on how to claim your tickets.

This offer is only valid for a limited time. Unclaimed tickets may be forfeited. You will have the option of confirming up to two tickets for a performance.

  • No, your tickets will be valid for a specific performance only. If you are unable to attend, please pass the ticket onto a friend or contact us at tickets@phoenixcentralpark.com.au to allow someone else the opportunity to attend.
