Bhairavi Raman x Nanthesh Sivarajah
7 October 2025
Bhairavi Raman is an Indian-Australian violinist. Classically trained in Western and Carnatic forms, she merges concepts and techniques to express her bicultural identity. She uses sound in a dynamic way, blending concepts and techniques developed through her decades of training and expertise in Carnatic (South Indian Classical) and Western Classical music. She holds an A.Mus.A in violin awarded by the AMEB, and has pursued advanced training in Carnatic Music in India for the past 12 years.
Accompanying Bhairavi Raman is Nanthesh Sivarajah, a multidisciplinary artist, passionate about combining his broad artistic skillset to produce unique works. He is a percussionist, trained in both South Indian Classical (Carnatic) and Western forms, and proficient in several instruments including the Mridangam, Kanjira, Ghatam, Morsing, Drumkit and several other percussion instruments.
Bhairavi and Nanthesh both have eighteen years of performance experience across Australia and internationally. They’ve played at some of South India’s oldest and most distinguished music venues, including two shows at the prestigious Madras Music Academy. With over 400 performances to their name, they represent a formidable blend of traditional knowledge honed in India, technical mastery, musical boldness and an authentically Melburnian voice.

Phoenix Central Park is an intimate performance space and tickets are limited. Due to high demand, tickets will be issued at random to those who have entered each ticket ballot. Each performance has a separate ballot, so if you would like to attend multiple performances, you will need to enter each ballot separately.
We advise you to listen to the artist you are entering the ballot for, and consider which shows you’d really like to attend. Entering more ballots does not increase your chances of attending.
Please only enter our ballots with your own details - if we catch you using false details, you won’t have any luck. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets we believe are obtained through false information at any time.
-
If you are successful you will receive an email up to ten days prior to the performance with instructions on how to claim your tickets.
This offer is only valid for a limited time. Unclaimed tickets may be forfeited. You will have the option of confirming up to two tickets for a performance.
