Rowena Wise is a Naarm/Melbourne-based singer-songwriter whose work balances beauty and mess with rare emotional precision, songs that feel like intimate conversations, delivered with quiet courage and disarming honesty. Drawing from the storytelling lineage of 60s folk while grounded in indie rock, garage pop and alt-folk, Wise has amassed over 12 million combined streams since debuting with "Diary" in 2018, and has toured extensively across Australia, the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada, supporting artists including Folk Bitch Trio, The Paper Kites, Medium Build, Didirri, Ball Park Music, Holy Holy, Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey.

Her 2024 debut album, Senseless Acts of Beauty, was shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize. Her sophomore album, Bad Things Feel Good, a tender, point-blank meditation on transformation produced by Rob Muinos (Julia Jacklin, Didirri) and recorded live at The Ratshack in Collingwood, arrived in August 2026. Uncut scored it 8/10, calling it an "irresistible country/folk-pop second" and hearing in it "a kinship with Julia Jacklin and Angel Olsen". NPR picked it for New Music Friday, it was Feature Album at Double J, PBS 106.7FM, RTR FM and Edge Radio, and Beat called it "a quietly devastating masterclass in storytelling".

Sabine Lee Cook is currently the host of fbi.radio's breakfast program "Up For It", and Triple J's Late Nights. She's been lucky enough to study music since a the age of five at institutions in Newcastle, New York, Seoul, and now Sydney. As the daughter of a musician and architect, the wonder and privilege of playing for an Australian music legend like Rowena Wise at Phoenix is not lost on her.

  • All performances at Phoenix Central Park are free.

  • Phoenix Central Park is an intimate performance space and tickets are limited. Due to high demand, tickets will be issued at random to those who have entered each ticket ballot. Each performance has a separate ballot, so if you would like to attend multiple performances, you will need to enter each ballot separately.

    We advise you to listen to the artist you are entering the ballot for, and consider which shows you’d really like to attend. Entering more ballots does not increase your chances of attending.

    Please only enter our ballots with your own details - if we catch you using false details, you won’t have any luck. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets we believe are obtained through false information at any time.

  • If you are successful you will receive an email up to ten days prior to the performance with instructions on how to claim your tickets.
