About Matt McMahon
Matt McMahon is one of Australia’s most distinguished and influential jazz pianists and composers. Winner of the prestigious National Jazz Award, McMahon’s lyrical and expansive style has made him a vital voice in the country’s contemporary music landscape. He has led his own acclaimed ensembles and performed alongside international luminaries including Vince Jones, Mike Stern, Wynton Marsalis, Bobby Previte, and dynamic vocalist Veronica Swift. Known for his profound improvisational chemistry and genre-blurring sensitivity, his work spans award-winning jazz albums, orchestral collaborations, and evocative acoustic dialogues. As co-founder of the 2@1 duo, McMahon brings a rich, cinematic warmth to the soaring acoustics of The Church.
About Guy Strazz
Guy Strazz is an award-winning guitarist, composer, and recording artist celebrated for his masterclass in acoustic storytelling. Seamlessly blending contemporary jazz with classical, Brazilian, and Indian musical nuances, Strazz has forged a unique global signature on the acoustic guitar that led legendary New York critic Ira Gitler to say that "Guy Strazz has a voice on the acoustic guitar." His extensive career includes notable collaborations with masters such as Slava Grigoryan, Vince Jones, Ashok Roy, and Mike Stern. A recipient of a Jazz APRA Award and an Indie Acoustic Project USA nomination, Strazz brings his characteristic virtuosic phrasing, rhythmic nuance, and deep cross-cultural sensibilities to the intimate, historic atmosphere of The Church.

The Church is a meticulously restored 19th-century Gothic church in Alexandria, NSW owned by Judith Neilson AM that houses rehearsals and work development for musicians by invitation.

All performances at The Church are free.

The Church is an intimate performance space and tickets are limited. Due to high demand, tickets will be issued at random to those who have entered each ticket ballot. Each performance has a separate ballot, so if you would like to attend multiple performances, you will need to enter each ballot separately.
We advise you to listen to the artist you are entering the ballot for, and consider which shows you’d really like to attend. Entering more ballots does not increase your chances of attending.
Please only enter our ballots with your own details - if we catch you using false details, you won’t have any luck. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets we believe are obtained through false information at any time.

If you are successful you will receive an email up to ten days prior to the performance with instructions on how to claim your tickets.
