About Ben Robinson
Ben Robinson is a contemporary classical composer known for music that is punchy, playful, and emotionally charged. His work has been described as having arcs of “fun and fury” (Limelight) and has been commissioned by organisations including the Sydney Opera House, Omega Ensemble, the Australian National Academy of Music, and Ensemble Apex. His music has been performed by leading Australian orchestras and ensembles and presented at festivals including Vivid Sydney and Extended Play. As an arranger, he has collaborated with Lime Cordiale and Jess Hitchcock, including national tours with all Australian state orchestras. He is a recipient of the 2MBS Fine Music Stefan Kruger Scholarship.
About Penny Quartet
Penny Quartet have gained a reputation as a fresh and vibrant chamber ensemble, known for their dynamic, contemporary approach to the string quartet repertoire. Founded in 2014, they quickly established a national profile through major awards, residencies, and festival appearances, and have since toured extensively across Australia and internationally. The quartet are committed collaborators with living composers and are two-time recipients of the Melbourne Recital Centre Contemporary Masters Award. Their playing combines deep respect for the core repertoire with a drive to explore new musical territory.

All performances at The Church are free.

The Church is an intimate performance space and tickets are limited. Due to high demand, tickets will be issued at random to those who have entered each ticket ballot. Each performance has a separate ballot, so if you would like to attend multiple performances, you will need to enter each ballot separately.
We advise you to listen to the artist you are entering the ballot for, and consider which shows you’d really like to attend. Entering more ballots does not increase your chances of attending.
Please only enter our ballots with your own details - if we catch you using false details, you won’t have any luck. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets we believe are obtained through false information at any time.
