Sydney-based pianist and composer Jordan Chung is an innovative and expressive musician recognised for pushing creative boundaries in both sound and presentation. Active across jazz, contemporary, and cinematic music, his work reflects a distinctive voice shaped by a diverse artistic background and a deep commitment to creating an emotive state.
Throughout his career, Jordan has worked with several prominent jazz artists and performed at renowned venues and festivals including the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Conservatorium International Jazz Festival, and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
As the bandleader of the Asian-Australian jazz group Zodiac, Jordan was awarded the ABC Jazz Composer Commission in 2023 to create the group’s debut album ‘The Wild Wild East’. In 2025 he released the group’s second album ‘From’ alongside a short-documentary of the band’s journey made by leading creators Andrew and Chris Yee.
Jordan is also a leading advocate for cross-cultural exchange between Australia and Asia. He has established partnerships and cooperative opportunities with institutions such as the Kuala Lumpur Jazz and Arts Centre (Malaysia) and Found de Chopin (Hong Kong) and has collaborated with an impressive list of Asian musicians including Alan Kwan, Nelson Fung, Ko Omura, and Foo Yin Hong.
In 2025, he led Zodiac on an international tour across Asia, followed by a national tour of Australia.
