dust — "Two Dogs" | Live at Phoenix
“Two Dogs” directed by Nikola Jokanovic and Nathan Rathsam, captures dust in a pressurised, cinematic frame—tense, dreamlike, and relentlessly alive. Split-screen compositions track multiple perspectives at once, compressing the push-and-pull of “Two Dogs” into a single visual field. The film moves through the charged atmosphere of the room, mirroring the song’s spiralling inner monologue: a fight between clarity and escape, between the self that’s present and the self slipping elsewhere.
Taken from their debut album Sky Is Falling, “Two Dogs” sits inside the band’s instinctive arc—chaos softening into calm. As Justin reflects, the album "unfolded organically… once we had all the songs in place, we realised we wanted it to start crazy and then chill out at the end.” That tension is alive in the film: rhythm fraying at the edges, the meter tightening and releasing, and lyrics drifting in and out of focus—“I’ll come back when I’m stoned.”
