Armlock — "El Oh Vee Ee"
In this episode of Live at Phoenix, Melbourne’s Armlock perform “El Oh Vee Ee” in the swirling surrounds of The Nest. Taken from their new album ‘Seashell Angel Lucky Charm’, “El Oh Vee Ee” is an emotionally charged indie rock track, fuelled by driving guitars and tight drumlines.
Born from the artistic synergy of multi-instrumentalists Simon Lam and Hamish Mitchell, Armlock emerged as a captivating musical project that ventured beyond boundaries. Before Armlock, the dynamic duo had already etched their names in the music industry. Lam and Mitchell, having previously collaborated as two-thirds of the electronic outfit I'lls, garnered critical acclaim likening them to luminaries like Portishead, Four Tet, and Radiohead, earning nods from notable voices including Pitchfork. Now, as Armlock, they create finely woven tapestries of emotions and sonic textures for a new age of indie rock.
