Bree van Reyk & Mick Turner - "Superclusters Pt. II"

Bree van Reyk is no stranger to pushing artistic boundaries, performing avant-garde classical repertoire just as comfortably as she does conceptual art pieces. In this special Live at Phoenix session, van Reyk is joined by legendary guitarist Mick Turner, a musician most famously one of The Dirty Three, who has worked with the likes of Nick Cave and Cat Power. Together, van Reyk and Turner evoke the drama of the natural world. The rising and falling of tides, the passage of a violent storm, the defiance of a landscape. The melding of these two disparate but indomitable musical spirits is beautifully captured here in this one-take film directed by Jeremy Elphick, with cinematography by Ben Lindberg.
