MIKE — "Artist of the Century"

In this episode of Live at Phoenix, rap’s youngest old soul MIKE takes to Phoenix Central Park with “Artist of the Century”, taken from his latest album ‘Showbiz!’. Awarded Best New Music by Pitchfork, ‘Showbiz!’ is a new high-watermark for an artist who is fast becoming one of rap’s generational voices. MIKE and DJ TAKA perform a live rendition of “Artist of the Century” within the beehive walls of The Nest, under the direction of Chi Tran. A writer and filmmaker who seeks to use the imaginary to uncover dormant paths for relation and understanding, Tran's 2023 film ‘The Sun Sets and Once Again the Earth is Upright’ (with Karina Utomo) is currently showing on NOWNESS Asia, co-commissioned by the Institute of Modern Art.
