Eliana Glass — "Flood" | Live at Phoenix
Eliana Glass performs "Flood" for Live at Phoenix, directed by award-winning independent filmmaker Charlotte Mungomery.
Reflecting on the film, Mungomery writes:
"Eliana’s track feels like weather; where small elemental shifts take hold over time. We wanted to craft a visual that moved with this poetry. Conceived as a four channel work, each frame was shot in a single uninterrupted take on black and white Kodak 16mm and hand processed by Director of Photography Ursula Woods in her Lutruwita/Tasmania home darkroom.
"Our ingredients were time, illusion and tenderness. We leant into the immediacy of liveness whilst playing with the tension of what feels live and what does not. Each frame a whisper; keeping Eliana close to us in the way her song sits right next to you. All four channels begin together, then slowly drift apart until only one remains truly live.
Inspired by Karen Daltons 1969 live recording of ‘It Hurts Me Too' and artist Bill Viola’s 1979 video artwork ‘Reflecting Pool’ this work is an attempt to honour how gradual transformations can alter the air."
